Micromax is officially making comeback in the smartphone industry. India’s very own electronic brand has made it official with their video on YouTube that they are ready to make an impact. With the investment of 500 Crore, Micromax has vowed to build the new products from the scratch in their very own country.
A couple of days ago Micromax has revealed a short video about their return featuring the CEO of Micromax, Mr. Rahul Sharma. Explaining the downfall of the company and a vision of comeback with the help of “Make in India” campaign, Mr. Sharma has made some big statements.
In this short introductory video, Mr. Sharma gave us a brief intro of his career. From where he started, and what he has accomplished in his journey. He did accept the downfall of Micromax by saying ” yes we did mistakes”, he said that the degradation of their company was based on mistakes that they made and couldn’t resolve them in time.
And also he stated that the arrival of Chinese phone in the Indian market had a huge impact on them. It made the company fall and the smartphone brand of India was no more to be seen.
But what is it that made his so eager to make a return? Was it the fall of Chinese products in India, No. It was his vision to make a comeback to the arena of global brands and his will to support his nation through his work. Mr. Sharma has made it very clear that he despise the behavior of China towards India, and what has had happened on the India-China border in recent months had left him angry and disappointed.
This is where he made a statement that he will help the government of India through out the Chinese products out of India. He has made is vow to play his part in this “For India, By India” campaign.
“India is one the top five mobile gaming markets in the world and with the ‘in’ brand we will provide a bona fide choice that will allow consumers to edge ahead with high performance oriented products, without infringing on their privacy,” – Mr. Sharma.
We all know that the Chinese products has a huge marketplace in India. Almost all the products we use has an attractive and cheaper version available in the market, which is made in China. And since we are talking about smartphones, China has occupied 66% of smartphone market in India. They offer high specs at low price, that’s exactly what increased their growth through Indian market.
But what alternatives the people had? Since theirs no way most of the people could afford the other smartphone brands. Buying the cheap phone of any company that was available was their only option. And why go for the expansive ones, when you can get same specs at a much lower price? This was a huge question in-front of the government as well as the buys of India. This is where “Micromax in” kicks in.
Micromax has its own manufacturing facilities available Hyderabad and Bhiwadi. We know this for sure the price of homegrown products are usually cheaper than the ones being imported from foreign countries. The manufacturing firm of Micromax has capacity to build 2-million phones a month. And now they are focused on their retail and distribution network.
Earlier this month, the union minister of Electronics and IT had approved 16 proposals by Electronic manufacturers under PLI scheme. The proposal has stated the investment of Rs.11,000 Crores with the inclusion of Samsung, Foxconn, Lava and Micromax.
Micromax is all set to release their new products before Diwali. The expected price range is from Rs.7000 to Rs. 15,000. The new Micromax phones expected to launch in the first week of November. They are side to be running the Helios processors and may provide the variants from 2GB/32GB up to 3GB/32GB. Not sure until the full reveal takes place.
