Rainbow Six Siege| Operation Shadow Legacy : New Operator, Map Rework, New Features and More (Aug 2020)

The Full reveal of Operation Shadow Legacy is here. The Year 5 season 3 update has got a lot of new things introduced including new operator to the game and lots of new features. And since we are down for another season update, their will be multiple changes in the game and the operators in it.

Operator : Sam “Zero” Fisher

Zero (Sam Fisher From Splinter Cell)

Zero is the new operator coming to siege as Ubisoft confirms Sam Fisher’s arrival to the game.

We all know who Sam Fisher is, but still if want to know, Sam Fisher is an armed assassin from Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell franchise. The Last time we saw Sam was in Splinter Cell: Blacklist. It will be a nostalgic moment for the fans of Splinter Cell games.

Zero (Sam Fisher) will be an attacker with 2-armor and 2-speed. Zero will arrive along side the new season.

Zero will be free and available for players who own Year 5 pass. Others will have to buy with Renown and R6 Credit.

Operator Gadget : Argus Launcher

Argus Launcher

Argus Launcher fire projectiles are nothing but drill cameras that drill through soft walls, reinforced walls and ceilings creating a camera vision for both sides. This is an amazing intel gathering gadget which is useful for the entire team. Also, these landed projectile can fire 1 laser shot that can destroy defender gadgets as well as deals 5 hp damage to operators.

This new edition of gadget to the attackers can turn out to be a primary choice in ranked matches as intel is everything.

Operator Gun

SC-3000K

Zero primary weapon is SC-3000K from the Splinter Cell Franchise. Another primary weapon choice is MP7.

Zero also has a silenced 5.7 USG as his secondary weapon makes him stealth as he needs to be. His secondary gadget choices are claymore and frag grenades.

Map Rework : Chalet

Chalet

The Very fist thing s that we can now rappel all the up to the rooftop. This change opens up door for inverted rappel peaking which you couldn’t do till now on Chalet.

In order to improve the rotation between the sites and basement, one hallway is added. Trophy site is switched with dining.

The Bedroom and Office has received the biggest changes. The stairs to the first floor has been moved to trophy. A new room is replaced with balcony next to master bedroom.

The bathroom is no longer connected to the bedroom but can be utilized as a rotation. Mezzanine is now connected to the office balcony where most of the windows are blocked. And the wine cellar is now a part of a single room only.

And most importantly, they removed the peaky horizontal window from kitchen that has caught every single one of us off guard.

New Secondary Gadget : Hard Breach Charge

The attacker team will now have a new secondary gadget as hard breach charge. Just like the good old breaching charge, this gadget can be used on walls, hatches and barricades. but this new gadget will be able to make a hole in the reinforced wall too. It will create a medium size hole which can be used as a murder hole and operators can move to the other side through it.

This gadget doesn’t need detonation as it starts doing its job as soon as it is deployed.

The operators that can use new hard breaching charges are Montagne, Ying, Fuze, Finka, Amaru, Nøkk, Capitão and Lion.

New Scopes/Sights

  • M4S Sight – New 1.0x Red Dot Sight with no zoom
  • MH1 Sight – New Holo Sight with new reticule and a clean sight
  • 1.5x Scope – New ACOG with upto short to medium range zoom
  • 2.0x Scope – medium range zoom
  • Modification and redistribution of sights

Customizable Optics And Sight Color

Ubisoft cares for its players. As they know their are color blind players too, who might find it difficult to focus or aim.

Thus, Ubisoft added a new feature which allows you to change the reticle color and opacity of optics to increase the comfort level of all players. Yet they intent to improve things even further in the future.

You will find new tab named “ACCESSIBILITY” in options menu. This is where you can customize things according to you will.

New Ping Mechanics

Pinging in siege has been improved as now pings will be contextual both while in drone mode or operator mode. In other words, you will be able to ping your desired element without having to give call outs. It will be available with the name or property of that subject.

You will be able to ping even after you are eliminated so that you can give your teammate valuable intel on the go with pin point location.

Now you can reveal opponent operators by pinging their gadgets.

Regular pings will now have numbers assigned to it which helps in easy callouts.

For controller users, the default ping input is switched with the swap fire mode input.

Changes for Available Operators

Thatcher

  • Thatchers EMP will no longer destroy gadgets nearby, instead it will now disable them for 15s (Previous 10s).
  • Picked up disabled gadgets will remove the effect of EMP from it.
  • The EMP will no longer affect the gadgets within Operator’s inventory.

Maverick

  • Now Maverick will have 6 blowtorch canisters (previous 5)
  • It requires an approximate 2.3 canister to open up a hatch, so having an extra canister can help you create peak holes or can be used to cover up the mistakes while trying to create a hole in reinforced wall.

Iana

  • Iana’s gadget Gemini Replicator will be able to use the new ping 2.0 system.
  • The hologram of Lana looks exactly like her, and will be able to use the ping system same as the operator controls.

Bandit

  • Bandit tricking will be more difficult now as disabled batteries will still be placed on the ground, which will take more time to pick the old one and deploy the new one.
  • It will be effective for the slow hard breachers like Hibana, Ace and the new hard breaching gadget.

New Reinforcement Pool

Till now we had 2 reinforcements with each defender. Operators will now be able to pick more from the reinforcement pool. It includes 10 available reinforcements available to share with teammates.

The pool will be decreased by 1 per successful reinforced wall.

Better Gameplay for Players

  • Winning or losing a ranked match will now give a minimum of 25 MMR gain or loss.
  • When you report a players, you will receive an in-game notification as the reported player gets sanctioned.
  • We might see the removal of “Vote to Kick” option from the game later in this season.
  • Operation Shadow Legacy will bring new weapon skin named “Penumbra Cell”.

Squad Finder

This feature will be added to the website with arrival of season. Squad Finder will help you find a perfect team, so that you can create your own best squad.

Players will be able to create profile with their in game data and play style. It will be determined by your game sessions, play style, language and game mode.

Players with similar stats and comfort with gameplay and language, will be able to connect, send request and be friends with players around the globe.

Operator Price Drops

In this upcoming season, their will be another price drop for 7 operators.

  • Clash – 15,000 Renown/360 R6 Credits
  • Ying – 10,000 Renown/240 R6 Credits
  • Lesion – 10,000 Renown/240 R6 Credits
  • Ela – 10,000 Renown/240 R6 Credits
  • Amaru – 20,000 Renown/480 R6 Credits
  • Goyo – 20,000 Renown/480 R6 Credits.
  • Maverick – 15,000 Renown/360 R6 Credits
