“Steel Wave” : Rainbow Six Siege: Season Update

The Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation “STEEL WAVE” brings two new operators to the rosters. Where we have Ace as an attacker and Melusi as a defender. In this update, we have Proximity Alarm as a new gadget, House map rework and some balance updates. The addition of new operator the game brings new challenges and excitements to the game. The detailed view at the season as follows..

Ace

The new operator Ace also known as “Håvard Haugland” is the attacker from Norwegian, brings new hype to the game. As his report states, he has a sort of affection for positive publicity.

His gadget is the new breaching device. This device is a combination of both Hibana and Thermite. The device known as S.E.L.M.A.. S.E.L.M.A. is a throw-able gadget who sticks to the surface before detonation. But their is a catch, as it explodes to the place it was stick to, then the device slides down and explodes to form an equally wide hole in the wall, that eventually creates a death hole as well as a passage to sneak around. The destructed area is not as big as thermite’s, but not to worry as he carries 3 S.E.L.M.A. gadgets.

If you are willing to use this operator, then here’s a trick for you, since it is a throw-able device, you can also deploy them on a three-panel wall in a matter of seconds, making it almost impossible to counter. But you should also need to have an eye for the Gadgets of Jager and Wamai or you might lose some devices.

Ace’s Loadout

Ace has one of the best body shot gun AK-12 and the one shot kill Shotgun (in short range) M1014. The secondary weapon is P9 Pistol. He also brings smoke grenades or breach charges that makes him capable of breaching and planting on his own.

Melusi

Melusi also known as “Thandiwe Ndlovu” is our South African defender. Melusi is a retired 1- parachute battalion, ex national defense force operator, brings a deploy-able device. The name of the device is Banshee sonic defense system. The Banshee can be deployed just like the Maestro’s Evil Eye. It is an automated device, so you dont have to look after or control it. Banshee is activated when an attacker is in its range. As its activated, it makes loud alarming sound and also slows attackers movement. Though it is bulletproof but can be destroyed by explosives or melee strikes.

A better way to use this device is pair it with the gadget of Jager or Wamai. The slowing effect increases as the attacker gets closer to the device. The slow effect will remind you of the effect of Clash’s gadget. Combining it with other operators gadget can help in getting easy kills like smoke’s canister, C4s, Volcan Shield, Evil Eye.

Melusi’s Loadout

Melusi’s loadout includes the T-5 SMG, Super 90 Shotgun and RG15 pistol. T-5 SMG is one of the most powerful guns in the game. Super 90 can be your preferred choice if you are good at holding a key point or know how to use the banshee device pretty well. Melusi has Impact grenades and deploy-able shield which helps her in roaming as well as anchoring depends on choice.

House Map Rework

House map is getting a rework in this season update of Steel Wave, which has been touted as a “casual” rework from Rainbow Six product directory, Roy Del Valle.

Now the Size of the house is bigger than earlier. With this rework, some of the areas of the house are made bigger and some are completely new. The new additions are the two rooms on each floor and a staircase to connect them.

Providing bigger space created a new bomb site in the TV room.

By making the fan favorite defusing bomb site difficult, garage has been modified as of now only one garage door is destructible. And the barricade added to give different access options but still making defuser planting hard.

The Workshop is modified into the girl’s room. Who has an attached walk in closet.

Blocked the main door, The shuttered window replaced with a hallway, Lines of sight have been reduced on the North side of the building making thing rougher that they already are.

Vertical play will be a lot more viable as most of the floor is now breakable. Some new hatches has been added and some were moved.

The bombsite from Living & training has been removed.

New Gadget: Proximity Alarm

This is an intel gathering device, which can be thrown and also is small in size, which makes it hard to find. It is automated, so no need to bother.

Patch Notes

• Amaru is getting a rework which will make her more agile and smoother that will make her less noticeable.
• Players will no longer have different MMRs for each region and will now be unified.
• Operator price decreases as, Alibi and Maestro are going down to 15,000 Renown or 350 R6 Credits, and Nøkk and Warden’s prices will be 20,000 Renown or 480 R6 Credits.

Operator Changes

• CLASH
  • Clash’s SMG will switch from red dot to reflex’s green triangle.
• ECHO
  • Yokai’s concussion will no longer shake the camera.
  • Movement will no longer affect the duration of concussion effect.
  • Concussion Duration is now fixed to 10s.
  • Replaced the Deploy-able Shield with Impact Grenades.
• FINKA
  • Base HP of the revived teammates by Finka’s Nanoboost will be getting 30 hp (from 5) .
  • DBNO Players now will stand up with 50 hp (30 from own base hp + 20 from Finka boost).
• KAID
  • Added LFP586 as a secondary to Kaid’s inventory.
• KALI
  • Fuse time of KALI’s device (Lance) is reduced to 1.5s down from 2.5s.
  • Improved the CSRX 300 recoil by reducing weapon climb after each shot.
  • Replaced the P22 Mk5 with SPSMG9 in Kali’s inventory.
• NOMAD
  • Added PR892 as a secondary weapon to Nomad’s inventory.
• ORYX
  • Reduced the dash damage to 5 (from 10).
  • New Proximity Alarm secondary gadget in place of Bulletproof Camera.
  • Added angled grip option to Oryx’s MP5.
• ELA, ZOFIA
  • Removed the mouse sensibility modifier from concussion effect of the Bosak sisters’ gadgets.
• YING
  • Reduced the count of Candela to bring it down to 3 (from 4 Candelas).
