At a recent panel event in Tokyo to celebrate collaboration, four artists revealed about their design process and how they worked together on a new piece of memorial work.
Commenting on the collaboration, Minor Iuoto, art director and designer of Tales of Arise characters, said, “In the Resurrection Tales, Shionne rarely appears in a women’s group, so this is a strange situation. with them. ”
Yuugen, one if the artists at Atelier Sophie 2 said, “Having four artists work together in one image has led to a work that has a lot of hidden depth.” At the moment, another artist Mel Kishida stated that “Blue Reflection is different from other games because it has a modern setting, so I wanted to accept that disagreement. I hope the girls get along well! ”
Iwamoto expressed his gratitude by letting the world know, how series like Dark Souls and Game of Thrones inspired his designs.
“Looking at the latest open world trends, it was difficult to determine whether the team wanted to show the sequence of action. Think of it as a war style like Dark Souls with real movement, or moreanime / manga-inspired style. Finally, I feel like we’ve found a style that really fits the picture of the series.
“Personally, I like things like Black Souls and Game of Thrones, but it has not been able to bring that style to the my game as it is. ”
Noco, another character designer at Atelier Sophie 2, said he played the role of changing the character of the lead character, who had already been established in the previous game. “I came up with about 15 designs, including some unusual items, such as men’s clothing. But in the end, I decided that I really liked the design. ”
